Rushden and Diamonds will sign experienced duo Sagi Burton and Gareth Jelleyman on one-year deals once they have passed medicals at Nene Park.
Both players impressed during Rushden's pre-season training camp in Portugal.
Burton, 30, was released by Barnet at the end of last season and has also had spells at Shrewsbury, Peterborough and Port Vale.
Jelleyman, 27, began his career with Peterborough United before moving to Mansfield Town.
The Diamonds have released two players, Lawrence Lambley and Ben Nunn.
Meanwhile, there will be international action at Nene Park next month, as England's under-17s take on Portugal on Wednesday 27 August.
