Daniels' penalty saves in the play-offs took Shrewsbury to Wembley

Tranmere have signed West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Luke Daniels on a season-long loan after he signed a new two-year contract at The Hawthorns.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury Town, where he made 38 appearances and helped them reach the League Two play-off final.

His deal at West Brom includes an option for the Baggies to keep him for a further year.

Daniels will be able to play in all cup competitions for Rovers this season.

John Barnes

Tranmere boss John Barnes said he was delighted to have brought the young goalkeeper to Prenton Park.

"He had a very impressive season at Shrewsbury and has a good future ahead of him.

"I'd like to thank West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo for allowing Luke to join us on loan."
