Boston United have signed former Mansfield Town defender Chris Wood, 22, after his release by the Blue Square Premier club.
Wood, who can play at centre-half or right-back, played under Boston's joint bosses Rob Scott and Paul Hurst on loan at Ilkeston Town last season.
Scott told Boston's website: "The squad is starting to come together nicely.
"Chris is another versatile performer who will add quality and depth to our defensive options."
Wood is Boston's second signing in as many days after the capture of Stamford winger Tyrone Kirk, and is Hurst and Scott's sixth signing of the summer.
Former Pilgrims midfielder Dave Farrell, who was released by the club at the end of the season, has moved in the opposite direction to Kirk and linked up with Stamford while teenage midfielder Mitchell Griffiths has rejected an offer to stay at York Street to join Ilkeston Town.
The Blue Square North newcomers are also thought to be interested in signing former Boston striker Jon Froggatt.
