Moore cost Telford a club record 5,000 from Tamworth in December 2006
Midfielder Lee Moore has been released by AFC Telford United after face-to-face talks with the club management.
Moore wanted to stay but, with Steve Torpey's signing from Stalybridge, he knew his appearances could be limited.
"With Torpey's arrival and the likes of Phil Trainer and Danny Edwards in the squad, Lee's chances would be limited," said assistant boss Larry Chambers.
"By his own admission, Lee didn't play to his best last season, so perhaps it's time he faced a new challenge."
Moore cost Telford a club record £5,000 when he signed from Tamworth in December 2006, and quickly became a fans' favourite.
"He's a talented player who helped us to promotion in his first season, and has been a good servant to the club," Chambers told BBC Radio Shropshire.
Nuneaton Town, Leamington, Hinckley Town and Solihull Moors are already thought to be interested in signing Moore.
