Dave Timmins has returned to Shrewsbury as goalkeeping coach after spells with Carlisle and Preston, where he worked with current Town boss Paul Simpson.

His previous spell with Town saw him work with Joe Hart, who has gone on to play for Manchester City and England.

"To work with him again is great and to be back at Shrewsbury is even nicer," Timmins told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Simpson is now stepping up his search for a new goalkeeper after Luke Daniels returned to West Bromwich Albion.

Timmins has been brought back by Simpson after the departure of assistant manager John McMahon to Liverpool, the Shrews boss has decided to replace him with specialist coaches.

He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I'd like to bring in people with specific skills to work on specific areas.

"John's departure gives me the chance to juggle the budget and bring in a backroom staff that can benefit everybody.

"Hopefully it'll bring us more voices, more opinions and more expertise to help the players."

Timmins worked under three previous managers at Shrewsbury - Kevin Ratcliffe, Jimmy Quinn and Gary Peters.
