McMahon joined Shrewsbury in 2006 as Gary Peter's assistant
Speculation is growing that Shrewsbury Town's assistant manager John McMahon could be joining Liverpool's coaching staff, reports BBC Radio Shropshire.
He has been with the League Two side since joining them as number two to previous boss Gary Peters in 2006.
McMahon, the brother of former Liverpool star Steve, spent eight years at Tranmere Rovers as a coach before moving to the Shropshire side.
McMahon has helped take the Shrews to the League Two play-off final twice.
