Billy Jeffrey has agreed to stay on as Banbury United manager despite the club's relegation from the Southern League Premier Division last season.

Banbury could yet be spared the drop because of financial difficulties at other clubs, and Jeffrey says he is happy to stay at the helm regardless.

"It was always going to be the situation that I was looking for it long term," Jeffrey told BBC Oxford.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge at Banbury whatever league we are in."

Despite finishing in the relegation zone the Puritans enjoyed improved results under Jeffrey, who joined on a temporary basis in March.
