Richardson rejects Worcester deal

Jon Richardson
Richardson left his last league club Oxford United in August 2002

Defender Jon Richardson has turned down a new contract with Worcester City.

The 33-year-old centre-half joined the Blue Square South club at the start of the season but now wants to concentrate on studying for a physiotherapy degree.

"Jon is going to struggle to do the Monday training and playing on a Monday so is going to look elsewhere," manager Richard Dryden told the Worcester News.

"Jon's a good professional on and off the pitch and was an experienced head which we needed."
