AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith was happy with the 1-1 draw with Southport as they edged closer to clinching a Blue Square North play-off spot.
Midfielder Phil Trainer went up front and scored the equaliser during the second half to earn a point.
Telford occupy the final play-off place and they are five points ahead of Droylsden with two games left to play.
"It's a good point for us. We've now got to beat Burscough to be safe," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
Droylsden are the only team who can catch the Bucks but a draw at Harrogate has hampered their chances of finishing in the top five.
Smith was delighted with Oxford loanee Trainer's contribution.
"I thought he was outstanding up front. He gives me another option. He took time to settle but now he's shown what he can do," he added.
Telford play Burscough at the New Bucks Head on Tuesday in game where they can cement their play-off place.
