Hinckley United suffered their second defeat in four days as they were beaten 3-0 at Droylsden on Thursday.
All three goals came after half-time, with two goals from Jake Speight coming either side of a Steve Halford strike.
The result sees Hinckley drop one place into eighth in the Blue Square North, with any play-off hopes virtually over.
The Knitters are seven points adrift of the top five, with seven games left, and have played more matches than their play-off rivals.
