Welsh has seen his side fail to score in their last five matches
Boston United remain in the Unibond premier division relegation zone after losing 3-0 at Kendal Town on Saturday.
Alex Taylor scored twice for Kendal with Michael Cole adding a penalty.
Boston's Gary King hit the post while Jon Rowan and Ricky Miller missed clear chances as the Pilgrims failed to score for the 11th time in 13 league games.
Manager Steve Welsh told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "If we'd taken half the chances we've created in the last few games we'd be well out of trouble."
Welsh added: "The first two were poor to give away because we gave the ball away in their half and they broke away to score, and that's not happened to us before.
"But we're not going to get better chances than the ones we had. Ricky's rounded the goalkeeper and how he's missed I'll never know, and Jon's wasted a one-on-one.
"We know the problems and we're trying to sort them out, but we might need a bit longer - and I don't know if we've got much longer."
In the Unibond First Division South Stamford's 20-game unbeaten league run came to an end with a 2-0 defeat by Rushall Olympic.
Terry Fleming's goal gave Lincoln United a 1-0 victory at home to Leek Town and moved them to within two points of the play-off places despite the dismissal of debutant Martin Pembleton, while Grantham Town and Spalding United shared a goalless draw at the Meres.
