Lincoln City have sent forward Paris Simmons back to Derby County to recover from an ankle injury just four days into his month-long loan spell.
The 19-year-old sustained the injury in the Imps reserves' 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United on Wednesday.
Manager Peter Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "He'll be out for a week to 10 days so it makes sense for him to go back to Derby for now.
"It's disappointing. Paris has enjoyed it here but hopefully he'll be back."
The left-sided player had joined the Imps with a view to a permanent deal and the club expect him to return when he recovers.
