Truro City's eight-match unbeaten run came to an end at Beaconsfield as they lost 2-0 in the Southern League Division One South and West.
Two-goal Bradley Bubb opened the scoring after 58 minutes before getting the clincher in stoppage time.
The defeat sees City slip from first to third in the table as their two main rivals both won.
Windsor and Eton are top after beating Thatcham Town 1-0, while AFC Totton are second after beating Didcot Town 3-1.
"We came here today with a strong side out and to be fair to them they've got some giants," vice-chairman Chris Webb told BBC Cornwall.
"They've got a pair of two six-foot-two plus centre-halves which Stuart Yetton and Andy Watkins couldn't deal with.
"Anyone coming here would have a difficult game. We've just got to put it right on Tuesday night against Cinderford."
