AFC Telford United's poor start to 2009 took a turn for the worse as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Fleetwood.
Jamie Milligan's goal on the stoke of half-time proved the killer blow for a Bucks who had already by then been reduced to 10 men.
Full-back James Meredith saw red for a professional foul.
And 10-man Telford struggled to create chances as they took their run of poor January league form to just one point out of a possible 12.
New signing Phil Trainer went closest for the visitors with a long-range drive.
But assistant boss Larry Chambers told BBC Radio Shropshire: "We got what we deserved.
"Even if we'd stayed with 11 men we didn't look like scoring. We showed a lack of passion and desire."
Telford are now six points adrift of leaders Tamworth, who won at Hyde. But they are still in fourth, four points clear of the teams chasing the Blue Square North play-off pack.
