Buckland go level at top of SWPL

Buckland Athletic have gone level with Bodmin Town at the top of the South West Peninsula League after a 1-1 draw at St Blazey.

Danny Gaze gave Buckland a first-half lead before Ian Symons hit back for the Cornish side.

Buckland missed the chance to go above Bodmin after Town's match with Ivybridge was postponed.

Bodmin have six games in hand on Buckland, but the Cornish side lead with a better goal difference.

Tavistock strengthened their position in fifth place with a 2-0 win at home to mid-table Clyst Rovers - Simon Skews and Mark Conday getting the goals.

Struggling Liskeard Athletic moved four points away from bottom side Elburton Villa after they came back from 2-1 down to beat Wadebridge Town 3-2 at Lux Park.

Paul Chuwen gave Liskeard the lead before goals from Chris Wolstencroft and Josh Insley gave Town a 2-1 lead.

Chuwen levelled with 10 minutes to go before Neal Kinsman sealed the three points with a late 30-yard strike.

Witheridge moved up a place to 14th after an excellent 6-2 win at seventh-placed Dartmouth as Simon Bochenski hit a hat-trick for Witheridge.

Bottom side Elburton Villa drew 1-1 with Holsworthy while Cullompton Rangers moved up to 13th in the table after a 3-2 win at Newton Abbot Spurs.
