King has joined Boston on a month's loan from Lincoln City
Boston United slipped to their ninth home defeat of the season in the Unibond Premier Division on Saturday, losing 1-0 to FC United of Manchester.
Debutant Gary King had an early effort disallowed, while Ollie Ryan and Adam Millson also went close.
The only goal came five minutes from time from Kyle Wilson, after Pilgrims defender Ryan Clarke lost possession.
Manager Steve Welsh told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We had the best chances but were caught by a sucker punch."
But Welsh felt the Pilgrims' performance should have earned them something from the game.
"It's what drives you nuts as a manager. It's a fine line.
"If we were getting cut open, if teams were getting chance after chance against us, then I'd be worried.
"But that's not happening, or at least it wasn't today, and that's probably what makes it all the more frustrating."
The wintry conditions led to the cancellation of most games featuring Lincolnshire sides, with Gainsborough Trinity's Blue Square North match at Fleetwood Town being called off less than 90 minutes before kick-off.
In the Unibond First Division South the games featuring Lincoln United, Grantham Town, Stamford and Spalding United were all postponed.
