The Reds have won only two of 10 home league games this season
Redditch United had to settle for a point in a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Solihull Moors.
But Reds boss Gary Whild told BBC Hereford and Worcester that there were still positives to take from the game.
"It's important that we didn't get beaten because the next two games and then Forest Green in the Trophy will shape the rest of our season," he said.
"If we keep putting in the same effort that we did today - and we do nine times out of 10 - then we'll be ok."
Redditch keeper Danny Lewis had yet another exceptional game, especially in the second half when he made two outstanding saves.
The Reds will point to a turned-down penalty appeal as being a key incident, but Whild was not complaining too much.
"I couldn't see it clearly," he said, "but it just looked a penalty, didn't it?
"All the lads appealed but the referee didn't give it.
"I have seen them given, but hopefully the rub of the green will come our way further on down the line."
Redditch's recent financial problems have led to changes in the squad, but there was another familiar face back at Valley Stadium.
Damian Whitcombe has returned to the club after a spell at Stourbridge and Gary Whild is delighted to have him back in the fold.
"It was good because he is left-sided and he knows the club," said Whild.
"We look at like for like, and we have lost Danny Edwards to Telford United and Craig Jones - the lad from Hereford - came up a bit short today due to illness.
"But Damian did us a great job down that left side."
