Jimmy Turner has looked fit and sharp after his loan spell at Bromsgrove
AFC Telford United super sub Jimmy Turner clinched a vital 1-0 win against Blue Square North promotion rivals Stalybridge Celtic.
Turner broke the deadlock with just nine minutes to go, his shot finding the bottom left-hand corner to earn his side their seventh straight league win.
"I knew it'd be difficult, because Stalybridge are a very good side," boss Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Stalybridge are a free-scoring side, but we've kept another clean sheet."
In a tight game, Carl Rodgers had the best chance of the first half, but was denied by Paul Phillips' fine save.
At the other end, Ryan Young kept Telford in it soon after the break, tipping Steve Torpey's effort over the bar.
Telford will now look to build on their run of six straight wins in all competitions when they visit troubled Stafford Rangers on Boxing Day.
Stafford are then due at the Bucks Head for the return fixture on New Year's Day (1500 GMT).
