Stafford Rangers have appointed assistant Chris Brindley as their new manager following Steve Bull's sacking.
Bull was sacked last week as a result of cost-cutting measures put in place by the Boro board to stop the club from slipping into administration.
In a statement, Brindley said: "It has been a difficult few days and I feel very sorry for Steve.
"Everyone needs to pull together for the good of the club, it may seem bleak right now but things will improve."
Along with Bull, six players have left the Blue Square North side with Tom Ingram becoming the latest to leave Marston Road by joining Hinckley United on Tuesday.
"We face a tricky time on and off the field, but if I can help the club stay in business and remain competitive in the non-league pyramid I will have done my bit," said Brindley.
"I love the game and I enjoy working here. In the difficult times that we all find ourselves in, I didn't want to be out of work and I think I can help the club."
