Selby Town are hoping to move to a new stadium in the next few years
Selby Town opened up the Koolsport NCEL Premier Division title race with a 4-3 win at leaders Mickleover Sports.
New Slovakian striker Marian Masny scored two second-half goals, the winner coming six minutes from time.
"Marian has been training with the club since August," said assistant manager Gary Cygan. "He's played over in Slovakia and he looks a handful."
The Robins are now five points behind Mickleover and the two sides meet again at Flaxley Road on Saturday.
Bruno Holden and Sean Gorman scored Selby's two first-half goals, with Tony Law, Kieran O'Connell and Joe Carter netting for Mickleover.
Masny made his debut a week ago in the 2-1 win over Brodsworth, and drove a good chance into the Flaxley Road trees on Tuesday against Dinnington before opening his account with his brace at Station Road.
Despite Mickleover's lead at the top, Cygan added: "There's five or six teams that can win this league and the beauty of this league is that anybody can beat anybody."
