Kent football summary and results

Andy Ford
Welling boss Andy Ford guided his side to a 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon

Dover Athletic have made it eleven Ryman League wins in a row with a 2-1 win at bottom side Heybridge Swifts.

Heybridge went 1-0 up just after half-time despite being down to 10 men, but Alan Pouton and Jerahl Hughes scored in the final 15 minutes.

Tonbridge went third in the table thanks to a 3-1 win at Hendon.

Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow told BBC Radio Kent: "It was a difficult surface and it was a fully justified win."

Top scorer Carl Rook, restored to the starting 11, gave Tonbridge the lead with his 10th goal of the season. Jamie Cade scored twice in the second half.

Maidstone United suffered only their second league defeat in two months with a 3-2 loss at Wealdstone. Dartford and Margate also lost and Ramsgate drew 1-1 at Harlow to extend their run to 11 league games without a win.

Charlie Sheringham, son of former England striker Teddy Sheringham, scored twice for Welling in their 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon in Blue Square South. Bromley won in the city of Bath for the second time in eight days. Warren McBean scored twice in their 3-1 win at Team Bath, just a week after they beat Bath City.

Cray Wanderers made easy work of Corinthian Casuals, beating them 8-1 in Ryman South. Scott Kinch scored five of the goals. Manager Ian Jenkins confirmed to BBC Radio Kent that Kinch was not even playing up front.

"I went with Leigh Bremner, who we have just re-signed, and Tommy Whitnell up-front. Kinchy played in central midfield. He's a danger, good from set-plays, he's a tall lad and it's fantastic for him.

"Not everything went right. We should have beaten them by more. There were five or 10 minutes to go. I was shouting to the lads we can go and get 10," he added.

VCD Athletic are Kent's last remaining club in the FA Vase. They beat Mildenhall 2-1 but Tunbridge Wells went out.

Holmesdale went five points clear at the top of the Kent league with a 3-0 win at Slade Green.
