Worcester City manager Richard Dryden had no complaints after his side's 100% record came to an end with a 3-0 home defeat by Hayes and Yeading.
Will Hendrie, Josh Scott and Scott Fitzgerald scored for United.
Dryden told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "If we played like we did when beating St Albans on Monday night we would have won all three games.
"If we had played like we did today, we would be bottom of the league on a massive zero."
The alarm bells should have been ringing for the City defence when the visitors had an early goal ruled out for offside, but they failed to heed those warnings as Hendrie put Hayes ahead after only seven minutes.

They then doubled their lead after 21 minutes when Scott scored from the penalty spot.
City knew they would have to get the next goal if they were to give themselves a chance of taking anything from the game, but Hayes and Yeading made the points safe 20 minutes from time when Fitzgerald netted.
City skipper Craig Wilding was making his first appearance of the season after completing a suspension and he admittted this had been a setback.
"Every one of the lads is disappointed, especially after the first two results that they've had, but we've come crashing back down to earth with a bang today," he said.
"We didn't really start well today and, as well as we have played in the last couple of games, if they had scored like Hayes did today at the right time, then we could have faced the same kind of struggle.
"But today we started badly, they scored and we couldn't get back into the game."
City have to pick themselves up ahead of the busy Bank Holiday weekend in which they will face a trip to Weston-super-Mare on Saturday, 23 August, before hosting Bath City two days later.
There will be coverage of both matches in sports programmes on BBC Hereford and Worcester starting at 1400 BST.
