Iron man Quinton happy with life

Quinton is hoping for a big crowd at his testimonial

Braintree Town player and assistant manager Bradley Quinton says his time with the club has been a real pleasure.

The midfielder, who has played almost 400 matches for the Iron, has been speaking to BBC Essex ahead of his testimonial with an Ipswich Town XI.

"There's nice people around the club, the fans are very friendly and it's a club that plays good football.

"Many people at the club play because they enjoy it and are not chasing after the pound note all of the time."

Quinton becomes the third Braintree Town player to enjoy a testimonial match during the pre-season, following games for Steve Good and Mark Jones.

And Quinton believes it is no surprise that so many players have stayed loyal the Conference South club.

They have managed to bring over quite a strong team which I'm really pleased with

"Everyone enjoys playing football at the ground, even down to the groundsman and the bar staff.

"They're such nice, friendly people."

Quinton is looking forward to the match with Ipswich at Cressing Road on Wednesday.

"Thanks to Russell Tanner, who's a good friend of mine, and Simon Milton who is connected with Ipswich Town, they have managed to bring over quite a strong team which I'm really pleased with.

"There should be quite a good crowd and it should be quite a good night."
