Braintree Town have signed midfielder Chris Piper from Eastleigh.

The 26-year-old former Dagenham & Redbridge, Farnborough and Fisher Athletic utility player can play in both midfield and in defence.

Iron boss Lee Patterson told the club's website he was delighted to have captured Piper's services.

"A player of his calibre had several other options available to him, so for me it's a big plus for the club that he chose to come and play here," he said.
