Southern League side Bury Town hope to sign former Ipswich Town and Northern Ireland midfielder Kevin Horlock.
The 35-year-old is currently a free agent and played for Bury in Wednesday's 3-0 friendly defeat against Ipswich Town.
"Horlock spoke to [Bury-born Crystal Palace striker] James Scowcroft who pushed him our way," boss Richard Wilkins told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"I think he has enjoyed the training sessions and I'm going to talk to him."
Wilkins added he is keen to hear what Horlock is looking for:
"He might want to do a bit of coaching which is fine, and carry on playing so we'll have a chat with him."
Before he joined Ipswich Horlock made his name playing for Swindon Town, Manchester City and West Ham.
For the past two seasons he has been with Doncaster Rovers.
