Gateshead have signed striker Paul Brayson and former on-loan defender Carl Jones after the duo were released from Blue Square Premier side York. Brayson, 30, began his career at Newcastle and lists Cheltenham, Cardiff and Swansea among his former clubs.
Jones, 21, was spotted playing for Chester-Le-Street by Hartlepool before joining York in August 2007.
Meanwhile midfielder Jamie McClen has joined Newcastle Blue Star on loan from the Unibond Premier side.
