Senegal's Demba Ba grabbed the headlines as his hat-trick ensured that Hoffenheim secured a 3-3 away at Stuttgart.
Ba now has 11 league goals to his credit as Hoffenheim stay second in the Bundesliga - 2 points behind leaders Hamburg.
Egypt's Mohamed Zidan scored with nine minutes left on the clock to rescue a point for Borussia Dortmund at Schalke as the game ended 1-1.
ITALY
Mali midfielder Momo Sissoko was on the scoresheet for Juventus as they won 2-0 at Palermo.
Juventus remain in second place in Serie A nine points behind leaders Inter Milan.
SPAIN
There was an African goal scorer again this week for Barcelona but for again once it wasn't Samuel Eto'o - instead it was the Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure.
But his goal proved to be a consolation as Barcelona lost to their city rivals Espanyol 2-1. Barcelona had been reduced to ten men in the first half with Mali's Seydou Keita shown a straight red card.
Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga was cut to 7 points after Real Madrid thrashed Real Betis 6-1.
BELGIUM
Mbark Boussoufa was on target twice for Anderlecht in Belgium
Morocco striker Mbark Boussoufa led an Anderlecht revival, scoring two goals in their 4-2 triumph over Standard Liege.
Boussoufa equalising each time as his side twice came from a goal down. The DR Congo striker Dieudonne Mbokani had scored the second goal for Standard.
Nigerians scored for both sides in the 1-1 draw between Westerlo and Club Bruges. Obiora Odita equalised for Westerlo in the second-half after Joseph Akpala had given Bruges a first-half lead.
Senegal's Mbaye Leye scored for the second week in a row to give Gent the lead in the second-half but Germinal Beerschot rallied in the final 25 minutes to win 3-1.
The Central African Republic striker Habib Habibou found the back of the net for the second time this season to give his side Charleroi the lead at Kortrijk. The game finished 1-1 as Senegalese striker Cheikou Kouyate equalised for Kortrijk with 11 minutes remaining.
Mustapha Jarju from The Gambia scored from the penalty spot to equalise for Mons Bergen but his side still lost 3-2 at Roulers.
Cameroonian Ernest Nfor scored one of the goals for Zulte-Waregem who crushed Tubize 6-0.
FRANCE
Cameroonian Christian Bekamenga equalised for Nantes one minute before half-time in their 1-1 draw with Caen.
HOLLAND
Moroccan players are having a very good season in Holland and that continued this weekend.
Morocco's Youssef Akchaoui scored for the second week in a row as he helped NEC Nijmegen beat hosts Utrecht 2-0 .
His compatriot Nourdin Boukhari was also on target for the second successive weekend, this time putting NAC Breda in the lead in their 1-1 draw at Den Haag.
And a Moroccan remains the top scorer in the league, Mounir El Hamdaoui, he scored both goals for the league leaders AZ Alkmaar in their 2-0 win at Heracles Almelo. That took Hamdaoui's total to 20 goals.
There was yet another Moroccan on target in Holland midfielder Karim El Ahmadi getting the opening goal for Feyenoord who beat De Graafschap 2-0.
PORTUGAL
Cape Verde striker Lito scored one of the goals as his side Academica Coimbra beat Maritimo 3-1. Senegalese Baba Diawara had pulled the goal back for Maritimo.
