SPAIN
Eto'o tops La Liga's goalscoring charts after helping himself to four goals
The performance of the weekend came from Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o,who is back to his very best.
Eto'o hit four goals past Valladolid as Barcelona ran out 6-0 winners in a sublime performance at the Nou Camp on Saturday.
The goals take Eto'o's tally to 13, making him top scorer in La Liga.
Mali's Fredi Kanoute was also on the scoresheet, as he headed Sevilla's only goal in a 1-0 win over Recreativo Huelva. Kanoute also missed a penalty with 12 minutes remaining.
Another Cameroonian striker Achille Emana scored his second goal of the season for Real Betis, who came from behind to beat Numancia 4-2.
Rwandan striker Mohamed Tchite scored the only goal of the game as Racing Santander beat Sporting Gijon 1-0.
And Morocco's Nabil Baha was on the scoresheet for Malaga, who lost 4-3 in a thriller against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
ENGLAND
Algerian midfielder Nadir Belhadj opened his Premiership account in stunning style, as he hit a 35-yard cracker to send Portsmouth on their way to a 2-1 win at Sunderland.
The result gave new boss Tony Adams a much needed first victory since taking charge.
The man he replaced - Harry Redknapp - continues to inspire his new charges at Tottenham, as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Manchester City.
However, he cannot have been too pleased with Cameroon defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who was sent off in a game that saw a total of three red cards.
NETHERLANDS
It was a busy weekend for Moroccans in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Mounir El Hamdaoui tops the scoring charts, after he scored for league leaders AZ Alkmaar as they beat FC Twente 3-0.
Another Moroccan striker Said Boutahar scored twice to help Willem II to a 2-1 win over Roda Kerkrade.
His compatriot Karim El Ahmadi was also on target for Feyenoord, who thumped Utrecht 5-2.
Ghana striker Matthew Amoah was back on the scoresheet, as he scored both goals for NAC Breda in their win at De Graafschap.
Ivorian striker Bonaventure Kalou scored his first goal since joining Heerenveen to earn all three points for his new side at Den Haag.
BELGIUM
Dieumerci Mbokani grabbed two goals in Standard Liege's victory
Zimbabwe's Vusi Nyoni also got off the mark as he sealed victory with a last minute winner for Cercles Bruges against Zulte-Waregem.
Niger's Moussa Maazou scored twice to fire Lokeren to a 3-2 away victory at Anderlecht, taking his tally to eight goals and putting him joint top scorer of the Jupiler League.
Dieumerci Mbokani from DR Congo also has eight goals in his account after scoring twice for Standard Liege in their 3-1 away win at Germinal Beerschot.
And Nigerian Azubuike Oliseh headed home the equaliser for Roulers, but it was not enough to save his side from losing 2-1 to Tubize.
FRANCE
Ivory Coast striker Bakari Kone scored his sixth goal of the season with a lovely volley for second-placed Marseille, who won 3-0 at Grenoble.
Morocco's Marouane Chamakh scored only his second of the season for Bordeaux, as they beat Auxerre 2-0.
GERMANY
Burkina Faso's Wilfried Sanou scored the winner for FC Cologne as they came from behind to beat Hannover 2-1.
