Alkmaar are now top of the table on goal difference - they are equal on 19 points with Ajax and NAC Breda.
Hamdaoui is now the top scorer in the league with 12 goals, overtaking Ghana's Matthew Amoah who has nine goals after failing to score in his last two games.
Another Moroccan Ali Boussaboun found the back of the net with the opening goal for Utrecht who beat Heracles Almelo 2-0.

Nigeria striker Joseph Akpala scored twice in the second-half for FC Bruges who dismissed Kortrijk 4-1.
Bruges are top of the table after 10 games with 23 points and Akpala is the joint top scorer with 6 goals along with Niger's Moussa Maazou and the DR Congo's Dieumerci Mbokani.

GREECE
South Africa defender Bryce Moon was red-carded in the second-half - but his side Panathinaikos managed to score a late goal to beat Panionios 2-1 without him. Ghana's Bernard Kumordzi scored the goal for Panionios.
Algeria striker Rafik Djebbour scored a last-gasp winner for AEK Athens as they edged passed Asteras Tripolis 2-1. It was the Algerian's first goal this season.
Ivorian Serge Die scored from the penalty spot for Iraklis Saloniki as they drew 1-1 in the derby with Paok Saloniki.
