Daniel Cousin's header secured an amazing win for Hull
ENGLAND
Gabon's Daniel Cousin scored the most significant goal of the Premier League weekend when he rose to head past Arsenal's Manuel Almunia and so give new boys Hull City an undreamed of 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.
The goal left Arsene Wenger stunned and Hull in sixth place in the league in their debut season in the top flight.
Amr Zaki of Egypt was on hand to give Wigan a win over the so-called "richest club in the world", Manchester City.
It was another impressive performance from the man who is on a year's loan from Zamalek, and he capped it with a penalty strike to secure a 2-1 win.
FRANCE
There was a significant moment for Dede Ayew, the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele, in France at the weekend.
He scored his first goal in Ligue 1, when he put Lorient ahead in their game against Sochaux - the match finished in a 1-1 draw.
Ayew is on loan at Lorient from Marseilles.
Elsewhere, Mali defender Adama Coulibaly got the opener for Auxerre as they beat Le Havre 3-0.
Algeria striker Nassim Akrour scored the only goal of the game as Grenoble pulled off a shock win over Paris St Germain.
SPAIN
Pierre Webo scored the winning goal for Mallorca who came from behind to triumph 2-1 over Racing Santander.
The Cameroon striker found the back of the net with just four minutes remaining to play.
ITALY
Matthew Amoah continued his fine run of form for NAC Breda
Morocco midfielder Houcine Kharja pulled a goal back for his side Siena who lost 2-1 away at Udinese.
It was Kharja's first goal of the season.
THE NETHERLANDS
Ghana striker Matthew Amoah continued his great start to the season when he scored twice in the first half for NAC Breda, as they beat Heerenveen 4-2.
And Ivory Coast's Sekou Cisse levelled the score for Roda JC who drew 2-2 at Sparta Rotterdam.
BELGIUM
Niger's Moussa Maazou was once again on target over the weekend, scoring the equaliser for Lokeren just before half-time, as they drew 1-1 with visiting Cercles Bruges.
Senegal striker Elimane Coulibaly scored what turned out to be the winner for Kortrijk, as they beat Charleroi 2-1 away from home.
Azubuike Oliseh was sent-off in the closing stages of the game between his side Roulers and Mons-Bergen.
The Nigerian defender had received a second yellow card in the 90th minute as Roulers lost 2-0.
Algerian midfielder Mohamed Fadel Brahami scored the second goal for Mons.
But Oliseh's fellow Nigerian Tosin Dosunmu was on target for Beerschot, scoring the opener as they drew 2-2 with Gent.
GERMANY
Algeria defender Anthar Yahia was red carded in the 84th minute as his side Bochum searched desperately for an equaliser against Bayer Leverkusen.
Bochum scored twice in the last 10 minutes but they were beaten 3-2.
Senegal striker Demba Ba scored his second goal for newly promoted Hoffenheim in a nine-goal thriller with Werder Bremen.
Ba had equalised on 15 minutes to make it 1-1 but his side went on to lose 5-4 to Bremen.
