Guernsey's media beat the island's politicians

Football: Media v Deputies
This was the sixth staging of the annual Christmas charity fixture

Guernsey politicians and civil servants were beaten 5-1 in the annual football match against the island's media team.

Channel TV's Andy Richards scored twice for the Guernsey Press, bolstered by goals from Joel de Woolfson, Simon Tostevin and the BBC's Alec Thoumine.

Island FM goalkeeper James Bentley was taken off injured after a collision with Chief Minister Lyndon Trott, who scored the deputies' only goal.

It was the sixth time this Christmas charity fixture has been held.

A collection was taken from the crowd and players raising £268.

This was presented to members of the Guernsey Disability Football squad, to put towards their trips to the UK in 2010.
