Jersey's football season got underway on Monday night with three matches in the annual Charity Cup.

In the preliminary round, a Jon Carter strike was enough to see Magpies through at the expense of St. Brelade.

Meanwhile, Sporting Academics beat First Tower United on penalties after the scores were level at 2-2 (aet).

In the first round, Jersey Scottish beat Jersey Wanderers 3-0 with two goals from Chris Conning and the other from Paul Aitkin.

On Wednesday evening, the tie between Trinity and St. Peter will now be played at St. Peter.

Trinity are yet to received new goals to enable the game to be played on their pitch - kick off is at 1800 BST.
