Parkway move second after victory

Football

Plymouth Parkway moved second in the South West Peninsula League on goal difference after beating fifth-placed Tavistock 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Jimmy Alexander, Andy Sargent and Mark Conday were on target for Parkway.

Leaders Bodmin Town dropped points for only the fourth time this season as they drew 0-0 at lowly Falmouth Town.

Falmouth stay third from bottom in the table while Bodmin are now 12 points clear at the top of the SWPL with two games in hand on Parkway.

The draw was the first time Bodmin have dropped any points since their 2-0 defeat to Torpoint Athletic at the end of January.

Wadebridge are now two places below 11th placed St Blazey after beating them 3-1, while Saltash United consolidated sixth place with a comfortable 4-0 win at second-from-bottom Holsworthy in which Marc Thorne scored twice.
