Adam Staniforth's missed penalty was as close as Launceston got to scoring
Launceston's poor first half display cost them dearly as they lost 24-0 to Cambridge in National Two on Saturday.
Cambridge hooker Matt Miles got the first try after six minutes before the impressive James Shanahan made it 12-0.
Tom Powell got a third two minutes later before Chris Lombard made it 24-0 at the break in an error-filled game.
Despite Cambridge having three forwards sin-binned after the interval Launceston could not break them down as neither side scored in the second half.
Launceston head coach Jon Hill told BBC Radio Cornwall:
"If you look at the way that the game went, we didn't let them work hard for any of their scores.
"We allowed three soft scores, they had a bonus point by half time, and we gave ourselves too much to do.
"It's pleasing that we responded after half time and beyond, but it shouldn't take 40 minutes and a strong wake-up call to put in a performance like that."
