Bromsgrove Rovers were ordered to repay the debt by the court
Bromsgrove Rovers have lost a court battle with their kit supplier over an unpaid four-figure bill.
The Victoria Ground club were ordered to pay kit manufacturer Errea nearly 5,000 by Redditch County Court.
In a statement, Bromsgrove chairman Tom Herbert said they had been left owing money when their kit sponsor had gone out of business.
He said the club's sponsor, a local hire centre, went into liquidation owing the club money.
Mr Herbert said Prudden Hire Centre had previously dealt with all payments to the club's kit supplier.
He said: "When money was due, the sponsor dealt with Errea direct and paid them.
"Errea knew this because, if an invoice was late they used to speak to them direct to get payment.
"However, our sponsor went into liquidation early last year and left owing us 5,500, of which 4,000 was to go to Errea to pay monies owed to them for kit."
