The freezing weather conditions have led to all but one of Tuesday evening's matches being postponed.
Tottenham's Carling Cup semi-final first leg at home to Burnley will go ahead, thanks to the undersoil heating at White Hart Lane.
But League games at Crewe, Stockport, Peterborough and Exeter City have been called off along with the Blue Square Premier matches at Burton and Weymouth.
And north of the border, Cowdenbeath's game at home to Berwick is also off.
In League One, Crewe were set to face Bristol Rovers, while Peterborough and Stockport were scheduled to host Milton Keynes Dons and Cheltenham respectively.
Macclesfield's trip to Exeter in League Two will also have to be rescheduled as will York's visit to Weymouth.
With Burton boss Nigel Clough taking over at Derby County, the Brewers' home fixture against Torquay was billed as his last game in charge after 10 years at the club.
In Scotland, the third Division match between Cowdenbeath and Berwick was originally set to be played last Saturday but was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
And following a pitch inspection at Central Park on Tuesday morning, it was decided that the surface is still not playable.
