Vance announces squad for Aland

Vance will cut his initial 30-man squad to 20

Guernsey football coach Tony Vance has named a list of 30 players he will consider for selection for the Island Games in Aland in summer 2009.

In his first duty since being appointed Vance selected his initial squad which will be whittled down to a final 20.

"I'm very pleased with the response from the players and the competition for places in the 20-man squad is very healthy," Vance told BBC Guernsey.

"It looks like we are going to be able to take a very strong squad."


Guernsey's preliminary 30-man squad for the Island Games:

Goalkeepers: Jody Bisson (Vale Rec), Nathan Pattimore (St Martin's), Tom Le Tissier (Rangers).

Defenders: Darren Martin (North), Ollie McKenzie (North), Michael Wilson (North), Paul Page (North), Sam Cochrane (Bels), Joby Bourgaize (Bels), Simon Geall (St Martin's), Naro Zimmerman (St Martin's), Tom Strawbridge (Sylvans).

Midfielders: Gavin Le Page (North), Matt Loaring (North), Glyn Dyer (North), Alex Le Prevost (North), Ben Coulter (St Martin's), Jason Winch (St Martin's), Matt Warren (St Martin's), Dave Rihoy (Bels), Mark Ramsden (Vale Rec), Piers Ockleford (Rangers).

Forwards: Craig Young (North), Simon Tostevin (North), Dom Heaume (St Martin's), Ryan Tippett (St Martin's), Ross Allen (Rangers), Antony Saunders (Bels).
