St Martins are top after an exciting evening of football in Guernsey
St Martins are top of Senior County League Division One after an exciting night of football on Wednesday.
They were the beneficiaries after second-from-bottom Vale Rec sprang a surprise 2-1 win over North at the Corbet Field.
Lee Ogier and Tom De Garis gave Vale a 2-0 half-time lead.
St Martins went top after they beat Sylvans 2-0 at Blanche Pierre Lane while champions Belgrave Wanderers hammered previous leaders Rangers 6-3.
"We started to play some good football and controlled it, and by half-time we were sitting in a nice position," Vale's first-team coach John Reid told BBC Guernsey.
It means Saints are top on 11 points, one clear of Bels and North having all played five games.
Rangers drop from first to fourth on nine points from six matches, Sylvans stay fifth on nine points, Vale Rec are still sixth on six points with Rovers, who did not play, still bottom without a point so far this season.
