Jersey Scottish got their 2008-09 Premiership campaign off to a flying start with a 3-1 win over Sporting Academics at Springfield on Thursday.

Lloyd Dean, Callum Brennan and Steve Langan got the goals for Scottish, while newly-promoted Accies replied through Bobby Melim.

Former champions Scottish, who finished third behind St Paul's and Trinity last season, go joint top of the league.

Accies are now joint bottom of the Premiership table.
