Saltash United won the South West Peninsula League's Charity Bowl after beating Bodmin Town 2-0 at Buckland Athletic on Sunday.

Danny Lewis opened the scoring after 25 minutes with a header before Marc Thorne sealed the win over the double-winners eight minutes from time.

The match, which is the curtain-raiser to the SWPL season, usually takes place between the cup winners and champions.

But with Bodmin winning the double, Saltash, who came second, took part.
