Deputy O'Hara says the infighting in Guernsey football must stop
Guernsey's Culture and Leisure Minister says he wants the arguments over the future of Guernsey football to stop.
Deputy Mike O'Hara's comments come after the Guernsey Football Association's chairman Dave Nussbaumer resigned over the wrangle on Wednesday.
"The sooner it's resolved the better," Deputy O'Hara told BBC Guernsey.
"All it can be doing at the moment is making it very difficult for football association as a whole and it must be reflecting on the players," he added.
Guernsey's FA want to abolish the current system of the Priaulx, Jackson and Railway leagues and replace them with a system of promotion and relegation from at least two divisions.
All we can do is hope that the GFA will be able to resolve the problem, but certainly we can't interfere

They also want to abolish the Youth One under-18s league and replace it with a league for 16 to 23-year-olds.
But some of the clubs want the proposed ages lowered to 16-21.
Railway League sides have raised concerns over plans for players to only be allowed to play for one club, with their league set to be merged with the Business and Sunday leagues.
Deputy O'Hara said his ministry, which is responsible for sport, could not get involved in the process:
"I'm aware that it's a controversial issue. I've been reading what's going on and hearing through the grapevine and all we can do is hope that the GFA will be able to resolve the problem, but certainly we can't interfere."
The changes to the league are part of the GFA's five-year strategy which will to be voted on at it's AGM.
