New Truro City boss Sean McCarthy "will bring professionalism" to Treyew Road, according to the Southern League club's Director of Football Chris Webb.
"The attributes he'll bring are professionalism and the contacts he's got around the football circle," Webb told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"Those contacts will help us when we hopefully move up the league pyramid."
McCarthy succeeds Dave Leonard as manager to help prepare Truro for a possible fourth consecutive promotion.
Former Plymouth Argyle striker McCarthy, who will be assisted by Dave Newton and Ian Lee, has been on Truro's radar for a while, having first applied for the manager's job when Leonard was appointed.
He wants the job. He kept ringing saying he wanted to take Truro City to Conference football.

"He applied for the job before Dave Leonard, " said Webb. "He was always in our files anyway.
"He wants the job. He kept ringing saying he wanted to take Truro City to Conference football.
"When Dave Leonard resigned he heard it and he's never stopped ringing us since. I think we've got a good manager coming to the club now."
He will get to work with the players for the first time towards the end of June at their first training sessions.
Despite McCarthy never having managed a side before, Webb insists that he will be a success.
"He's a very good coach, " said Leonard. "People say where's he managed?
"He's not managed at a high level but they've got to start somewhere haven't they?
"I think he'll be a tremendous manager for Truro City."
