Steve Rhodes has taken his team to third place in their Twenty 20 group |
Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes hopes his team have answered a few critics following their sudden improvement in the Twenty20 Cup. After just one win in their first three games to follow the red-faced FP Trophy exit to Ireland, Rhodes' men have now responded with three straight wins. "We've been topsy turvy," said Rhodes. "A lot of supporters were upset. "We had some tough criticism after Ireland, quite rightly so, but we are hitting some consistent form." Worcestershire now go into their 19-day Twenty20Cup break on eight points in third place in the Midlands/West/Wales Division, level on eight points with second-placed Somerset after their three victories in four nights. And Rhodes told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "I hope they will look at this week and they way we've played, the way we've won the games and the way they got behind us. "Even one of the games we lost against Northants, we were all over them, apart from a great knock from Johannes Van der Wath. "There's only been the Warwickshire game when we deserved to get beat so so I am happy with the way we have come back." Rhodes' men get back to action with the return game against Somerset on 23 June (1730 BST).
