Warwickshire won the local derby honours as they beat Worcestershire by seven wickets to finally claim their first win of this year's Twenty20 Cup.

Jim Troughton (58) and Jonathan Trott (53no) produced a match-winning second-wicket partnership of 97 as the Bears reached 150-3 with 10 balls to spare.

Earlier, young seamer Keith Barker had starred with the ball, taking 4-19.

Only Steven Davies (73) and Daryl Mitchell (35) made double figures in Worcestershire's total of 148-6.

Davies's 48-ball effort at a sun-kissed Edgbaston, containing nine fours and a six, was surprisingly his first half century in his 27th game of Twenty20 cricket. But it was overshadowed when he ended up on the losing side.

That is a feeling Troughton, who also had four scores of 50 or more in this year's Friends Provident Trophy, has known well this week.

The former England left-hander's 58 off 44 balls was his third half-century in five days in this competition - but this was the first time he had ended on the winning side.

Trott also hit seven boundaries, weighing in with an unbeaten 53 as the Bears galloped to their target with 10 balls to spare.

Both sides make a quick return to action on Saturday, the Bears heading for Cardiff to meet Glamorgan (1730 BST), while Worcestershire host Northants at New Road (1500 BST).
