Latham fit for Warriors training

Chris Latham will be fit for pre-season training with Worcester Warriors on 15 June after recovering from last season's fractured shoulder blade.

The ex-Australia international full-back missed Worcester's last seven games after being injured in the 14-10 win against Gloucester in March.

But, after returning to Australia to recuperate, he is back at Sixways.

"I've trained for the last three to four weeks in Australia," he said. "But it's great to be back in Worcester."

Latham, 33, told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "I still have a lot of work to do, but I feel good and can't wait to get back into it.

"It was nice to go back and meet friends and family, but living out of a suitcase for nine weeks isn't ideal.

"I kept in touch and saw some games on TV. But it was hard, and I would have loved have been involved in the win at Gloucester."

Another of Worcester's injured overseas stars Sam Tuitupou is also expected to report fit for the resumption of pre-season training on 15 June.

The New Zealand centre ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Newcastle in December.

Tuitupou remarkably played on for the next 70 minutes after suffering the injury at Kingston Park, but was then ruled out for the rest of the season.
