No more signings, says Duckworth

Cecil Duckworth
Duckworth has only signed three new players at Sixways this summer

Worcester Warriors chairman Cecil Duckworth has said he does not foresee any more new signings before the start of the Guinness Premiership season.

Warriors have bought in utility back Willie Walker from Gloucester and props Adam Black and Olivier Sourgens.

Duckworth said Warriors will not bring in players for the sake of it, but revealed there may be new men later.

"It's doubtful now, but we are looking and it may be that they won't join us until October, November time," he said.

That would appear to signify the Sixways club were looking at southern hemisphere players, but Duckworth would not be drawn further on the subject.

He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "We don't want to block the development of our young players, but we realise this is not a development league, it's full-on from day one.

"We don't want to bring in players that are no better than the ones we have already."
