Hussey has clocked up 382 runs in this season's FP t20 |
Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell says skipper David Hussey's leadership has been outstanding in this year's FP t20 campaign. Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "He is the best fielder we've got and the best batsman. "He's not particularly a tactical genius - a lot of it is down to performance - and if he bats and fields well the others follow him." Nottinghamshire are currently top of the FP t20 North Group on 17 points. Newell added: "He [Hussey] leads them through his own performance. "It gives him the responsibility to want to do well. You can see how much it means to him." Newell's side have now won eight games out of 11 in the competition. "We are looking like a good side but it's a long competition. "We're not going to win 16, 15 or 14 games but we'd like to and we need to keep playing the good brand of cricket that we're playing at the moment."
