David Hussey and Matt Wood both hit half-centuries as Nottinghamshire eased to a six-wicket FP t20 win over local rivals Derbyshire at Derby.

Chasing 153 to win, captain Hussey (65) and Wood (51 not out) shared 95 for the third wicket in 9.3 overs as Notts got home with 12 balls to spare.

They did make hard work of it, though, after reducing the hosts to 2-3.

But Garry Park hit a Twenty20-best 66 to lead the recovery operation and help his side to a respectable 152-7.

Victory extended Nottinghamshire's lead at the top of the North Group to three points and completed the double over Derbyshire, who have now gone four games without a win.

Notts got off the perfect start when Darren Pattinson bowled Wes Durston, who scored a century when the sides met at Trent Bridge, with the second ball of the game.

Chesney Hughes swiftly followed, pulling Pattinson to deep mid-wicket, before Loots Bosman chopped Dirk Nannes on to his stumps.

But Park, in his first Twenty20 innings of the summer, steadied the ship with Greg Smith before inspiring a late charge which saw Derbyshire score 61 from the last five overs.

Charl Langeveldt, on his return to Derby, pinned Ali Brown leg before with his first ball, but that proved to be a rare success for Derbyshire in the field as Hussey smashed four sixes and five fours in his 34-ball knock before Wood hit the winning runs to bring up his own half-century.

Notts captain David Hussey told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"I am very happy. I thought we started off the game really well and really determined.

"I think you got the feeling when the boys walked out, with it being a Notts-Derby game, all the boys were up for it.

"We had a coffee this morning in the gym and spoke about how important Notts-Derby games are, and all the boys were fired up."
