Nottinghamshire skipper David Hussey hit another match-winning half century to help his side stretch clear at the top of the FP t20 North Group.

In-form Hussey hit three sixes in his 56 off 38 balls as Notts were limited to 149-6 at Trent Bridge by fellow quarter-final hopefuls Warwickshire.

But the Bears buckled badly in reply, slumping to 23-3 including Hussey's removal of key man Jonathan Trott.

The visitors were eventually bowled out for 117 to lose by 32 runs.

Apart from cementing his place as the competition's top run scorer, Hussey then did the trick with the ball too.

He delivered a wicket maiden in his only over, bowling Trott for a scratchy 15, as the visitors made a mess of the run chase.

Five Bears batsmen reached double figures but no-one bettered Jim Troughton's 23 as they collapsed badly, left-arm spinner Graeme White claiming 3-23 as the home side picked up their eighth win in the competition.

Nottinghamshire now lead the North Group by five points thanks to second-placed Yorkshire's surprise six-run home defeat at Headingley by Leicestershire.

Notts now have a week off before heading to Leicester next Sunday, but Warwickshire face a trek north Chester-le-Street for Monday's start of their four-day County Championship game with Durham.
