Hussey wants to make Notts return

Batsman David Hussey has said he is keen to return to Nottinghamshire again in the future after his short stint at Trent Bridge this season.

The 32-year-old has been with Notts for the past five weeks as cover for Adam Voges, who was on international duty.

"I'll definitely come back to Notts at some stage," the Australian told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"I really enjoy playing for Notts, it's a great ground to play at and the bunch of boys to play with are fantastic."

Hussey has spent four full seasons at Trent Bridge since 2004 as Notts' overseas player, before returning to cover for Voges this season.

"I've really enjoyed the little stint," added Hussey. "But Adam comes back now and he's done particularly well, so hopefully he can continue and help the Notts boys win the Championship."

Hussey scored 407 runs in three first-class matches, including two centuries, and he admits there is one condition to him returning to the county in the future.

"As long as Mick Newell's in charge [I'll come back]," he added. "We get on famously."

Hussey has played in 22 one-day internationals and 10 Twenty20 internationals for Australia, but is yet to feature in a Test.
